In this class we are going to start right at the beginning, going over the necessary equipment required to western bright cut engrave and how to use it. I'll go over all the different gravers and cover sharpening all the necessary ones. We'll learn how to cut bright cuts and dive into scrolls, flowers and then tie it all together. My goal is to teach you the basic fundamentlas of western bright cut and design which should give you the tools to move forward in any style of engraving. I'm excited to have the opportunity to work with you!

We understand that deciding to invest in learning a trade takes thought and planning. Please find below an estimated initial investment cost for tools and materials used in this course. As always better tools make the learning curve less steep however you can start small and add tools as you go. Lastly a lot of tools used in one course can be used in another of the same trade.

Gravers, 37, 42 & 45 flat, 90 degree V graver and or 1 round graver, 16/10 or 18/10 bend graver
Engraving system including a hand piece and Engraving Block
Sharpening system for gravers including an angle finder
